Посёлок Октябрьский – крупный центр рыбной промышленности Камчатки, в 2023 г. отметил своё 90-летие. В статье рассказывается о зарождении на рубеже XIX–ХХ вв. рыбных промыслов на песчаной косе, образованной Охотским морем и р. Большой, об истории посёлка и развитии рыбной промышленности. Ныне на территории посёлка расположены пять крупных рыбных предприятий, которые добывают и обрабатывают рыбу, в основном лососевой породы.

Sett lement on the sea spit
Oktyabrsky settlement, a major center of Kamchatka's fishing industry, celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2023. The article tells about the origin of fisheries at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries on the sandy spit formed by the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bolshoi River, about the history of the settlement and the development of the fishing industry. Now on the territory of the settlement there are five large fishing nterprises, which extract and process fish, mainly salmon breed.
